Hey! This section will go over what to do when you are ready to rap it up for the DAY or MONTH.

 

When you are done….

  • For the day -

    • Before the client is complete, update asana with your progress. This way when you continue working, you will have a clear understanding of where to pickup where you left off. See image #1 to the right.

    • Update Harvest with what you completed. For a complete overview of Harvest click HERE.

    • Do a status update - We need to know what the last completed month is for that client.

      Pro-tip - Copy your Harvest entry and paste it right into Asana for your status update.

  • For the Month -

    • Once all accounts are reconciled and there is nothing left to be done in Asana, complete a Final Check on your own client.

      • What if my client hasn’t gotten suspense back to me? No problem! Go ahead and complete a final check and assign a final check.

      • What if my client hasn’t gotten me access to every account? Use your discretion. If its a major amount of data missing - hold off on doing a final check. If it’s one or so account(s) that doesn’t result in a ton of transactions each month, document it in Asana in your monthly task, update your List of Needs and move on. See image #1 above and #2 below.

      • What happens when I am done with December’s bookkeeping? December’s bookkeeping is special BECAUSE its the last month of a fiscal year. Because of this, there are two special things you need to know:
        1. All December final checks go to Lindsey Roberts ONLY.

        2. Lindsey only wants them if ALL accounts are reconciled and ALL suspense is cleared.

  • Assign a final check in Asana to have your work reviewed. Please label the final check as “Final Check – MONTH (you just completed)” and assign to the person listed at the bottom of the Asana task.

    Pro-tip - when you are completing your own final check, include it in your regular bookkeeping task. There is an item in Harvest labeled “final check” but this is reserved for the member of the final check team.
